Conestoga 10 year anniversary65 viewsPossibly our weirdest costumes ever, we created these "Bubbette" costumes for the Yard Dog Press Traveling Roadshow, but they fit the bill for this show, which celebrated 10 years of Conestoga, 10 years of Meisha Merlin Press and 10 years of Yard Dog Press. The bras and belts are autographed by Yard Dog authors.

Cover for The Four Redheads: Apocalypse Now!42 viewsWhen we took photos for the cover of the chapbook, we went ahead and shot some concepts for the novel we hoped to write if the chapbook sold well enough. We figured we'd never be younger or better looking.

Athena, the survivor33 viewsAthena was abandoned outside my sister's house in the country when she was under a year old. For six months, she survived roaming dogs and freezing temperatures. She still loves people. She's a great cat (other than the nippy thing) who doesn't get on the counters, claw the furniture or mess on the floor. Whoever dumped her was a jerk. But they're loss is our blessed gain. My husband and I wonder what we ever did before we had cats to amuse us.

The Toast photo used on the cover147 viewsThis was my first foray into Photoshop artwork. Weems Hutto (Dusty Rainbolt's husband) took the photo against a blue screen, then I added special effects--including erasing a few wrinkles and dark circles. Hey, it's art. It should look better than real life!

World Con Boston with Terry Pratchett (photo by Jack Krolak)105 viewsWe often dance for the Masquerade photographers at World Con, who have to arrive very early and have nothing to do while they wait for contestants to arrive. We did a "freestyle" version of our monster mash show for them. Just as we finished, Terry Pratchett, the WorldCon guest of honor, came in. He said he could only pose with us "for an hour or two." At one point, Linda's skirt fell over her leg and a photographer shouted for her to "show more leg." Terry took this to heart and showed some leg too.Jan 14, 2009
